GV5 Technologies: Practical Technology Help for Small Businesses

GV5 Technologies builds custom software, automates repetitive work, and connects the tools small businesses already use. Here's what we do and how we work.

GV5 Technologies helps small businesses get more out of their software and systems. We build custom applications, automate repetitive work, connect the tools you already use, and keep the technology behind your business running reliably.

Most small businesses don’t have an IT department or an engineering team. They have a handful of tools, a few workarounds, and someone (often the owner) who ends up being the technical support. GV5 exists so you can get thoughtful, experienced technical help without hiring a team to get it.

What GV5 can do for your business#

  • Custom software. When off-the-shelf tools don’t fit how your business actually works, we build applications that do. Hardhat Flow, an application we built for a construction business, is an example of this kind of work.
  • Automation. If someone on your team does the same task by hand every day or every week, there’s a good chance it can be automated, which frees up their time for work that needs a person.
  • Connecting your systems. Information that gets copied from one application to another, or re-entered in three places, is a common source of errors and wasted hours. We can make your tools share data with each other.
  • Websites and web applications. We can build, maintain, and improve the sites and web tools your customers and staff rely on.
  • Reliable infrastructure. Hosting, deployments, monitoring, and recovery planning, set up so that releases go smoothly and problems are easier to catch and fix.

Signs it may be time to call#

You don’t need to know what technology you need. If any of these sound familiar, that’s enough of a starting point:

  • You’ve outgrown a spreadsheet that the business now depends on.
  • Your team spends hours on repetitive data entry or copy-and-paste work.
  • Your software is slow, fragile, or hard to maintain, and nobody wants to touch it.
  • Updates to your website or application feel risky or take longer than they should.
  • When something breaks, it’s hard to tell what happened or how to fix it.

How we work#

We start with your business, not the technology. We want to understand what’s working, what’s getting in the way, and what a worthwhile improvement looks like for you, including your budget and the systems you already have.

We right-size the solution. Sometimes the answer is a custom application. Sometimes it’s connecting two tools you already pay for, or making one recurring task easier. A smaller, well-targeted change is often the better investment.

We improve things in steps. Your business can’t stop while we work. We make changes that can be tested and supported while you keep operating, rather than asking you to replace everything at once.

We explain things plainly. You’ll know what we recommend, why it fits, and what it will take to keep it running. Clear communication and a realistic scope matter as much as the code.

Who’s behind GV5#

GV5 is led by Dave Vigil in Cypress, Texas. Dave has spent more than a decade building and operating software and infrastructure, including cloud platforms, Kubernetes, deployment automation, and monitoring. That experience came from engineering roles at other organizations, and those employers are not GV5 clients. It’s the background Dave brings to GV5’s work, and it shapes how GV5 builds things: with an eye on how they’ll be used, maintained, and fixed after launch.

When you work with GV5, you work directly with Dave.

Get started#

If something in your business takes more effort than it should, email [email protected]. Tell us what you’re trying to do and what keeps getting in the way. A short description is plenty, and we’ll take it from there.

On this blog, we’ll share practical lessons from software projects, automation, and troubleshooting, and explain the thinking behind our decisions, including when a simpler approach is the right one.
